Do You Have Trouble Writing Love Letters?
Are you one of those people that can't seem to write a letter, much less a love letter, no matter how hard you try? Well for those of you who are love letter challenged, I have come to your rescue with a few different ideas of love letter templates that you can feel free to use. I have been writing love letters to my husband for the past 16 years, so I have had a lot of practice.
Whether you use them for Valentine's Day, an anniversary, or a birthday is your choice. Have fun using these templates to write love letters, and I hope they help you express your feelings to your beloved. It'll make their day!
What to Write a Love Letter On
When writing a love letter, you want to make it special. Having a nice piece of writing paper will make it look attractive. Or if you have a piece of scrapbook paper, that could be nice as well. In the absence of both of those, a piece of computer paper will do. Handwritten is best when it comes to love letters, but if you hate your handwriting, and want to type your love letter, you can type it on your computer and print it out. Or handwrite it on computer paper also. If worse comes to worst and you have nothing else, a handwritten love letter on a piece of notebook paper will work.
Add-Ons to Make Your Love Letter Extra Special
If you really want to make your love letter special, here is a list of things you can add to the paper to make it special.
Stickers with hearts, smiley faces, or cute emojis
A photo of the two of you together that you like or that will bring back a special memory (tape this to the top of the letter)
A memento from something you mention in the letter (tape this to one of the margins if possible)
A squirt of your perfume or aftershave (pick your loved one's favorite scent that you wear if you wear more than one)

How About a Short and Sweet Letter?
Okay, so if you aren't into writing long and involved love letters, here's a quickie that you can use and fill in whatever words you would like next to each number. The words I use in the example below are just fill-ins and you should personalize it the way you want. Please don't use a word that you don't really feel is a trait of your significant other. Like if you love him for his brains but don't think he has a great sense of humor, take that one out. The best love letters are those that are sincere.
And although I am giving twenty adjectives, you can choose ten or fifteen or anywhere in between. This is your letter. I am just helping you out!
The photo at the beginning of this article is an example of a "quickie" love letter!

Yes, I totally agree with you!
BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on January 26, 2021:
This is full of interesting ideas and words to choose from to describe your loved ones.
I used to jot a note and toss it in his work bag..certain he would find it while working.
Then on special occasions like a Birthday or something where I purchase him a card...I write my own poem & place it inside the card.
He lived the little notes at work, but sometimes thinks I go a bit overboard with the card.
It's the thought that counts.
It's always a grest idea to let them know they are special.
Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on January 26, 2021:
I can't remember the last time I wrote a letter. I have purchased pretty cards and wrote something nice on them. I think your letters are wonderful, and I make take that approach for Valentine's day. This is a very good article, Karen.
Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on January 26, 2021:
That's kind of a cool idea. I usually don't do letters. Instead, I'll write a story with Bev as the lead character, a love story if you will. :)
Lora Hollings on January 25, 2021:
These love letters are a great way to celebrate this special day and make it easy to give a Valentine to that special person in our lives. Thanks for sharing!
Liz Westwood from UK on January 25, 2021:
This is a very timely article as we approach Valentine's day. You make some great suggestions.
