How Do You Know If Your Boss Has a Crush on You?

I love to write about flowers, tips, how-to guides, and topics about love and relationships.

A crush is such a great feeling, especially when you know the feeling is mutual.

There are many different ways to tell that your boss likes you. Some signs are so noticeable that even your colleagues will confirm the special treatment you get from your boss.

Men and women are all the same. If someone has a crush on you, you will notice it. They will only differ by how they show their affection. This could be due to differences in their culture or in their attitudes. See the following ways to find out if your boss might have a crush on you.

1. Improvement in Physical Appearance

Have you noticed changes to your boss's physical appearance? What do they look like now? Did their appearance improve? Even animals make themselves look better to attract partners. If your boss is on the chubby side but is still young—say in their early 30s—look to see if they are getting thinner. Most likely they are going to the gym.

Here are some of the physical changes to watch for that may indicate your boss has a crush on you:

  • Clothing: If your boss always wears the same suits or uniform, or dresses very casually, see if they seem to be putting more effort into what they wear.
  • Perfume or Cologne: Is your boss constantly changing their scent? Try to compliment it. If they always smell like that afterwards, bingo! That means they were trying to find the right scent to attract you.
  • (For men) Stubble: There are some women who believe that a man having stubble looks sexy and attractive. How did he look before? Does he usually have a clean shave? Ask him why he changed his appearance. Maybe he's one of those men who thinks that they are more attractive when they have stubble. If you like his new look, compliment him and see what he does.
  • Blush: I do not blush so I cannot say why some people blush. But based on what my friends tell me, people blush when they are stuck in a not-so-comfortable situation or when their heart beats fast because they saw their crush. Others blush when they are having a conversation with their crush or even just when they hear something about their crush. Have you noticed your boss blush in front of you?

2. Body Gestures

It's true, actions speak louder than words. Your boss is likely the shy type and that's why you are reading this. If your boss was so confident that they would not be rejected, they would say their feelings to you directly. But if they are the shy type, it's very difficult for them to ask you directly. They may want to see and verify some signals too. Unfortunately, some people cannot control themselves and are unaware of their body language, and they cannot hide their feelings, so their actions speak loudly and broadly for them. If they always have their body turned towards you, or hold your gaze for longer than with other people, it may mean that they like you.

3. Hungry for Your Attention

Your boss will usually make or invent a scenario that will catch your attention and try to impress you. If, for example, they have a new watch, they will likely raise their arm showing their beautiful watch to you. Or they might think that their new shoes will impress you. They will then make a scenario, like brushing off their pants or skirt to draw your attention to the shoes. If you compliment the shoes, you will probably make them blush.

4. They Are Always Looking at You

You will notice that even if they are talking to somebody, when you pass by they will look at you and pause their conversation. When they are around, you will have this instinct that they are always looking at you and observing all your movements. If you have a great conversation with others, or you greet others cheerfully, they will look at you as if they are jealous.

5. You Are the Favorite

Your boss will appreciate every little thing you do. You will notice that they are happy to be with you. They will look for a way to be with you everyday. Either they will go to your office or they will ask you to visit theirs. Your boss doesn't get easily angry with you and most of all, your boss will not fire you.

6. They Love to Mention Your Name

If your boss usually only says "thanks" to show appreciation, you will notice that for you, they always say your name after the word "thanks." And the tone of their voice is not normal. You can feel that their voice is extra sweet.

I have a dilemma. My boss is bisexual and we're quite young and work with each other quite a bit and can't quite understand whether or not she is just being really nice or flirting... as we dont have a really good friendship, the last thing I want to do is make anything awkward at work.

We've been working together for about a year and a half and never had an argument. When I go away and we end up going on a night out I tend to see a different side her. For example she tells me she misses me and asks if I miss her the same when she's not at work. I've been telling about my mates wedding in Mexico next year and she says shall we go...

Work has had a few nights out recently and the first I believe we were both quite drunk and got quite close, but then towards the endof the night she was like we should fall in love and get married and ended up giving her piggy back to the shop and to grab a taxi home.

On the most recent night out we ment for a team meal and it seemed like she quite keen on sitting next to me. We have a laugh plenty of banter being thrown across the table but then came out the phone.. Snapchat we took one photo and then she wanted to go through all the filters together. After the meal I was pretty I must say, we went on to a bar and we played a game with another work mate which I lost and was asked to ask two random girls for a 3sum which I did and failed miserably haha but my boss went up to the girls to fins out what I'd asked them. Then maybe an hour or so later she said we should get married again but this time went further and said she would have to leave her job and id take her position (as far as I'm aware there's no company policy). I played a long with not thinking much of it as I was already drunk but thinking about it is she interested?

Later that night went to another bar and by chance the 2 girls is asked for a 3 sum were in that bar until someone had mentioned they were staring at me. I built up some courage and went over started dancing with them and then a few minutes later the boss comes over and joins and whispers shall we have a foursome... obviously I said yes! We Were then soon pulled back to the group and moved on again. It was only in the last bar we went too that we ended up getting quite close dancing and grinding and I thought I was definitely in the zone, but I just pussied out because we were out with work colleagues.

I could go on for ages as there's so many little things too, but seriously I really don't know how to deal with it, do I tell her how I feel? Would that ruin the friendship we have, or do I ignore it or furthermore do test the water?

      Thanks in advance

my ex-boss always talks to me about work..but i catch him staring at me a lot recently. Also, he sometimes comes to my desk asking for an update of a work done in the past (which he is well aware of)..i'm very surprised why he is asking me again for the same stuff which he already knows..he has done this twice in last few weeks. Also, i was talking to my current boss today when he appeared from nowhere , and when i finished my discussion with my boss, i was going back to my desk when he called me from behind (in front of my current boss) and asked me suddenly raising his voice- Äre you alright? I said yes..he kept asking me the same thing twice and i kept saying ÿes i'm fine". This episode was really wierd because he's never behaved in this manner before. Further, when i was about to enter my floor, he shouted from ground floor and when i turned to see what happened, i realised he was asking me to check if Alex was there and to let him know he wants to talk to him...I am unable to understand his behavior now

Okay everything that you mentioned my boss does. I deliberately got my hair straightens and he looked at me when I can out the bathroom and did a quick double take. After that me can up to me and said hi "my name" in a very flirty way. After that I deliberately started talking to one of my employees and his back was facing that employee. He turned around while he was talking to someone else and he looked at me. After that he ended the conversation he had with some and said Jennifer are you going to head to work. Later that day he was making fun of me that I liked him and he called him the thing on Lord of the Rings that says my precious. He doesn't help that he asked my age and when he found out that I was only a year younger than him the flirting just got more intense. But he had to bring it down a notch cause two people accused him of him favoring me more . He told me before that I am his favorite and that he gives me preferential treatment over everyone else. It doesn't him any that he's extremely good looking.

I started to notice some of the signs that were mentioned in the articles. The tone of voice with extra sweetness into it, visit my desk often, I also caught him looking everytime he passes by. I compliment on this one shirt and he seems to be wearing it at least twice a week now. Also a year ago I told him that he looked better with beard and he hasn't shave since but he kept it groomed well!!! Most of all, I'm always the first pick just about anything!
