Why Aries and Scorpio Attract Each Other
Aries and Scorpio Make for a Crazy Love Affair
This is a combination full of mystery, passion, and insanity. You have two warriors from the cerebral side, and neither is a wind sign. Aries is known for the horns coming out of their head; they are a mental powerhouse, the age of the ram, and the symbol of the brain. Scorpio is known for inciting great pain to others' psyches. Scorpio makes people feel like they are soulmates, and the other person is left without knowing how this mysterious seduction happened. Scorpio could be a real dummy, but their dream psyche could visit you in your sleep, telling you all kinds of truths.
These are two hardcore souls. Aries is going to prove how hard they can chase after adventure and life, while Scorpio will show you that they can love so deeply, so passionately, and even so hatefully that they can master you. These two are a lot of fun to watch—they'll maybe cause a bit of a headache, but they'll definitely make for a crazy love affair.

Two Signs Influenced by Mars
Both Aries and Scorpio are influenced by Mars. For this reason, I don't like to call Scorpio a feminine, or yin, sign. The yin and yang concept traditionally sees wind and fire signs as yangs and earth and water signs as yins. However, this creates a binary, and the zodiac builds on multiplication—we have quadruplicity with seasonal nature and triplicity with the elements.
- Cardinal signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn.
- Fixed signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius
- Mutable signs: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces
- Fire signs: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
- Earth signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
- Wind signs: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
- Water signs: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
- Yang: Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius
- Yin: Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces
The are some binary equations that I don't agree with and find more complicated. Mars is an incredibly masculine planet. Venus is incredibly feminine. To have Mars in your chart automatically denotes masculinity. Aquarius is quite feminine to me even though it's technically a yang—it's the last yang of the zodiac and the temperaments soften as you get to the 12th house, so Aquarius may have this feminine edge to it for that reason. I think the gender/binary system in it is more complicated than what is given, and I think Scorpio is so complex that the binary gender application doesn't click—I can see the feminine in Pisces or in Cancer, I can see the masculine in Leo, but Scorpio is quite masculine.
Scorpio traditionally belongs to Mars. This gives it a masculine edge. However, Scorpio is an incredibly complex sign—they are the resurrection sign of the zodiac. Their emotions are complicated because, with their emotions, they reach the very depths of hell and the very tip of heaven. This is why they have three symbols whereas the other members of the zodiac have one. The Scorpio is the snake, the scorpion, and the Phoenix. Throughout life, it is cycling through those three until it reaches full enlightenment and can stay as the Phoenix.
They Are in Opposing Seasons but They Try to Understand Each Other
Scorpio is also symbolized by the season of fall. It literally sees the magic in the opposite of spring life. It knows that life is coming back soon, but it wants to play in the alchemy of fall. This is why things get weird in a relationship between an Aries and a Scorpio.
As the first child of the zodiac, Aries is incredibly prideful. Aries has seen everything cleared away and made empty due to Pisces' energy, who sacrificed itself out of unconditional love. Aries never forgets that act, and its entire life is focused around that because Aries is the first born child of that energy.
This understanding of Pisces' sacrifice is what Aries will use to try to understand its Scorpio. Meanwhile, Scorpio will use the Sagittarius energy to relate to Aries. Scorpio is aware that Sagittarius is not like Aries, because Sagittarius is unpredictable and uncommitted, like a wild horse—though it's a lot more chill.
Aries believes in spring with all their hearts, and they love seeing life go from budding flower to full bloom. Scorpio, on the other hand, wants to take those flowers and make them their own, changing their colors and helping them to die so that life can be enlightened and get to its final stage. Aries might be able to tap into some of these paradoxes, but they are ultimately going to be confused. Most of the zodiac really doesn't understand Scorpio and the complexity it is dealing with—the Scorpio is full of paradoxes.
What a Relationship Between Scorpio and Aries Is Like
These two are going to play a lot of mind games against each other. This is both to seek more control of the relationship and also open doors to better understanding each other. They will get on each others' nerves and try to trigger the other person to see what the reality is.
They both do this in all of their relationships. Scorpio wants to know what your trigger buttons are, how to make you angry, how to make you sad, and how to make you fall in love with them. That's their ultimate question, and they eventually have to learn that you can't force anyone to love you. Scorpio reaches enlightenment when it realizes this.
Scorpios' real intent is to reverse pain. It can't reverse pain and fall in love unless it knows and identifies why you are in pain. Scorpio doesn't assume that people are without pain. If Scorpio doesn't come to enlightenment, it gets stuck in its snake or scorpion modes, which are both not going to satisfy the relationship needs that Scorpio has. Scorpio will delude itself into thinking it is only a sexual creature, even though its end goal is a relationship.
Don't take advantage of a Scorpio. They'll make sure to come back to haunt you—whether in your waking life or in your dreams. Scorpio is eventually going to learn that it really wants a very powerful, loyal relationship. However, before it reaches that Phoenix state, it can do some pretty insane and sordid stuff. Think of it this way: Scorpions will make love for hours on end and then one of them will eat the other. Scorpio wants to overcome this insane idea that it has to devour its lover, but it is a hard lesson to learn. Aries won't put up with someone trying to devour it because Aries remembers having escaped the womb to become its independent self.
You can see how these two energies are not going to put up with a lot of crap. However, this is ultimately why Aries is good for Scorpio. Scorpio needs a partner that is not just going to let itself be devoured because this is the only way Scorpio can become enlightened. Scorpio needs to know that relationships are real and that the world isn't just about sex, but Scorpio will get lost on its way to discover this fact. Aries, though incredibly passionate, does not like to be owned or possessed.
Some signs do like some amount of control and merging—like Pisces. That doesn't mean that Scorpio can't have an enlightened relationship with Pisces, but it does mean that Pisces will have to work harder to develop itself independently. Scorpio will have to encourage Pisces to do that to make the relationship grow.
Things to Look Out for in a Relationship
Aries may not understand why Scorpio is so deep and brooding. Aries likes to run swiftly and lightly across the planet, like leaving behind a trail of flowers in its wake. Scorpio might think that Aries is shallow or needs to grow up, but Scorpio is just not seeing Aries correctly. Aries has a deep desire to spread horizontally, while Scorpio seeks to move vertically. Aries is used to being in control when it comes to relationships, but Scorpio is powerful and can—for a change—outpace Aries. A lot of your issues are going to circulate around jealousy and possessiveness.
How the Leader and the Magician Can Get Along
Aries is a natural leader. They want to go out into the world and have as many adventures as possible. Scorpio really wants to highly connect with someone and have them to themselves. Aries could potentially not understand having that much attention on themselves, and Scorpio might not understand why Aries constantly has a need to go out and spread their legs, their messages, and their thoughts. Aries will need to understand that Scorpio has a stubborn personality, and can become cold and secretive. Aries will need to really push themselves to give Scorpio affection because Scorpio craves affection, attention, and admiration—all of it.
Scorpio should see Aries' desire to explore the world as an opportunity to learn more about Aries and the world. Scorpio should not let itself shut down if Aries is not constantly by their side. It will come with some amount of communication and compromise because you two do have different goals that could conflict with each other. Aries is stubborn about being a leader and taking charge, but they are a cardinal sign so they carry some amount of indecision and openness at times. It is better for you two to focus on positive emotions and thoughts. It's really easy for the two of you to break into a fight, something which might actually be of interest to the both of you—especially Aries.
These fights could be toxic and too much to handle, but you can overcome this. Aries, you need to slow down and think before you speak. Scorpio, you need to hold back judgment and not analyze your partner so much. Sometimes Scorpio over-analyzes the situation and highlights arbitrary matters. Scorpio looks directly at the problem and its solution but uses a defense mechanism to highlight smaller problem spots. These are more like broken fingernails or split ends. Scorpio tests the water with these tricks before breaching a real problem area.
Relationship Management Tricks:
- Have a mediator to help the two of you focus on emotionally intelligent language.
- Scorpio, don't freeze out your mate and ignore them—explain where you are coming from. Be vulnerable and express what you are feeling. By being awkward, you can be authentic.
- Aries, think before you speak. Scorpio is very reflective. Your partner is absorbing what you say.
- Emotions go through three-day cycles, so sometimes give problems a few days to process. Then, meet later to talk about what you discovered, whether the problem's solved or not.
- Compliment each other where there are strengths. Make sure to support each other more than you fight.
- Be open and let the other person lead with what they want sometimes. Switch it up so that you can understand the other person better.
