The Coldest Sign in the Zodiac—Capricorn!
There Is a Chill In the Air, Capricorn Has Arrived
I wrote a previous hub on Capricorn, describing how it is the second darkest zodiac sign. This is because Capricorns can be quite pessimistic and see only the more negative aspects of life even though there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Capricorn is a Cardinal Earth sign. Cardinal signs are the initiators who can easily institute and implement plans. They must be starting something. They are always on the go. Capricorn's cardinality is expressed by always advancing and/or progressing from one career and/or project to another. They are not content being in the same career and doing the same project for long. If they do not advance in their respective careers, they believe that all their efforts are for naught.
Capricorn's earth component is exemplified by the fact that if they undertake something, it must be for a practical reason or it is utterly superfluous. Capricorns often have an ultimate goal in mind when they are about to undertake a task whether it is academic, job/career, and other tasks. They do not believe in doing something just for the heck of it. Frivolity is definitely not a word to describe Capricorns. In fact, they are quite the opposite; they do things with intent in mind.
Capricorn represents the 10th house of the zodiac. The 10th house symbolizes the father and/or authority figure, the apex of achievement and success, executive positions and/or other positions of power, public image, status, and family legacy. Capricorns covert and love power and what it represents. They are great believers in tradition. To them, tradition is aligned to status. In other words, they believe that tradition is more valuable and prized than the untried and new. Tradition also symbolizes safety and security to them.
They are also attracted to power. Power represents security. To them, if they are in power, they are in the driver's seat so to speak. Furthermore, if they are powerful, they will never have to be vulnerable to anyone ever. The worst thing for a Capricorn is to be powerless. If they are not powerful, they are attracted to people in power. Authority is another side effect of power. If one is in an authoritative position, then she/he literally call the shots.
Capricorn is the 10th sign of the zodiac, ruled by Saturn. The season Capricorn rules is the beginning of winter. During this time, the weather becomes colder. Oftentimes, it begins to snow and the climate dramatically changes during this time. Furthermore, the weather can become quite inclement during this period of the year.
Capricorns can be aptly described as cold. They are cool strategists who refuse to let their emotions rule them. They believe in being detached from the task at hand. To them, it is business and business only. They contend that life would be much easier if people would not let their feelings and emotions interfere with their life goals.
Capricorns steadfastly maintain that one must always be calm, cool, and totally collected at all times. They believe that people who are cool are more highly regarded than those who always wear their emotions and feelings as badges of honor. They further contend that exhibitions of sentimentality is totally unprofessional and a sign of weakness.
Being considered a cold person is not necessarily a bad thing for a Capricorn. Capricorns maintain that it is important to present the right image and to proper. To them, presenting the right image means the difference between respect and disrespect. To be respected denotes a high regard and a sense of authoritativeness. Being respected and authoritative can be translated into feelings of acclaim to the Capricorn.
In terms of work, Capricorn only relates to people in terms of retaining and eventually advancing in his/her career. He/she is a contender regarding the issue that the ends justify the means. He/she does not necessarily have to like the job, coworkers, and the boss. The workplace can be hell; nevertheless, he is capable of enduring it with a cool detachment as long as he/she accomplishes his/her specific goals.
The concept of being passionate about a career and/or lifepath is a non-issue with the Capricorn. He/she can be detached from a career/job and still perform the duties therein beyond par. The issue is the work being well done. He/she contends that whether one is passionate about a career/job or not, he/she should have the professionalism to do the job at hand well. That is all he/she asks for and demands. He/she applies this principle not only to subordinates, coworkers, and bosses but most of all, to himself/herself.
Capricorn applies this cool detachment not only to work but in relationships. He/she is not the type of person to fall madly in love. He/she coolly assess relationships. He/she consider relationships to be a business arrangement. He/she fully must know as much as the person as possible educationally, psychologically, and particularly, socioeconomically. A person must be highly successful or working towards it in order to capture the interest of a Capricorn. He/she is not just interested in any person. To him/her, an intelligent, thinking person should carefully assess all aspects of a relationship. According to him/her, only a fool falls in love, madly and/or otherwise.
Capricorn is a strong believer in smart dating and/or mating. Socioeconomic conditions are extremely important to him/her. The adage that one can love a rich person as well as a poor person deftly applies to the Capricorn. He/she believes in presenting a good public image. In addition to that, he/she also appreciates and craves status. Socioeconomic prosperity represents status to him/her. In addition to that, it also represents security. Capricorn also values security. In his/her estimation, security and status is equated to power. To the average Capricorn, power is to be and end all in a relationship.
Capricorn can be coldly calculating. The Capricorn keyword is "I use." He/she is not loathe to use situations to achieve his/her ends. It could be a less than desired job/career and/or people. He/she is not above forming alliances with people if it means his/her promotion to a more desired and/or powerful position. Many Capricorns are not above marrying a person for money, viewing this as an opportunity to advance themselves. They can be the consummate political animals, seeing which situation is more expedient.
The issue of ambition is of the utmost importance to the Capricorn. The main goal and reason for living in many Capricorn lives is striving for the top. The top represents the 10th house component of achievement and acclaim. If he/she does not reach the top, it will NEVER be for lack of trying. There is no sacrifice too onerous that he/she will not undertake. To reiterate, Capricorn coolly practices the dictum that the ends justify whatever means taken.
There are some Capricorns that are not above sacrificing friends, family, spouses, and even children to obtain that prize of success, whatever it may be. They can coldly disown and/or cut off people if they do not fit into their success plan. Success is everything to them. For without success, they consider themselves to be worthless personae non-gratae. To them, to be unsuccessful is a fate much worse than death. Being unsuccessful means being disrespected and subsequently disregarded. If a person is unsuccessful, it ultimately translates into being powerless and vulnerable. This is the ultimate weakness. The last thing Capricorn wants to be is weak for this contradicts his/her image of himself/herself as being coolly controlled and impartial.
In summation, Capricorn is the coldest sign in the zodiac in that its natives can be coldly detached regarding job matters as well as interpersonal relationship. To them, being detached means being in control of the situation at hand. It also represents strength. In the Capricorn mind, people respect strength, and that component is important to achievement ant ultimate success.
Capricorns are also considered to be highly calculating people. They can impartially assess the positives and negatives of a situation, whether it is business or personal. They are extremely adept at planning and strategizing in order to achieve their respective goals. They are strong adherents of the mandate that feelings and emotions are disruptive elements in the human psyche and oftentimes, are strong deterrents to success. They believe that things can be better achieved with the detached use of reason and pragmatism.
