Tips for Dating an Aquarius Man

Updated on December 28, 2016

Please note that is this a tongue in cheek article about dating Aquarius men, so if you're one of them, don't get too upset. Not that you would, given how passionless and dull so many Aquarians are! But seriously, folks... this is one of the few astrological signs that I have just never been able to take seriously when it comes to having a relationship. Oh, I know the sign inside and out -- all (and I do mean all) of my best and closest friends have been Aquarians. Men and women both. I know this sign as well as I know my own. But I'm sorry, y'all, I just can't date you. And let me tell you why!

The Humpty Dumpty of the Zodiac

Aquarians can drive you mad because they so often seem to not have much of an opinion on most things. They are very take it or leave it. That's not to say he won't get excited at the prospect of meeting a new girl or going on a date, but the fairy dust clears pretty quickly and they don't have much in the way of natural passion resources to make up for that loss of excitement. It's not that they don't like you as much as they did before; it's not even that they don't want to be around you every waking minute -- it's more that they are just naturally bland at expressing these things after the initial "new car" stage wears off. They will appear to just be sitting there against the wall, capable of going either way, until you give them a helping hand and yank them in one direction or the other.

More playful than passionate

If the Aquarius guy is a deep-feeling man, he does a really good job at keeping that part of him locked away somewhere you'll never see. When he expresses himself romantically, there's always a lightish, often playful type of energy. Oh, he's happy to see you (that much is obvious, right?) but he's not going to bend you over backward and kiss you the way Fabio does on those God-awful romance novel covers. For some women this will be fine. For others, not so much.

More flaky than a dry scalp

The Aquarian man (and most of the women) are scatterbrained and flaky. Hey, I mean that in a nice way. I'm not saying you're stupid, I'm saying you've got your head in the clouds some days, and the rest of the time you're just very bad at keeping on top of your schedule. Aquarius women are better at this, but they can be pretty crap at it as well. And if the Aquarius guy is only partly sure he digs you? Ohmygod, forget about it: he'll be so scatterbrained you'll wish you were dating the scarecrow from Oz, as that guy would be more collected.

The Basics:

  • How to flirt with an Aquarius man: Be new and mysterious
  • How to tick an Aquarius man off: Try to take advantage of him

  • How to scare an Aquarius man off: Bring up the "M" word (marriage)

  • How to get an Aquarius man back: Reinvent yourself and be new and mysterious all over again
