Astrology Signs: How Virgo and Gemini Get Along
Virginal and Varied
The Virgin and the Twin
This series on AstroCompatibility will cover all of the potential matchups in the Zodiac. We will continue this series thinking about and commenting on Gemini and Virgo.
Virgo is an Earth Sign. Gemini is an Air Sign. Virgo is Mutable. Gemini is Mutable. This makes the Virgo stable but understanding and flexible in the qualities that they bring to relationships. The mutability of Gemini air seems to make more physical sense with air molecules blowing up into the atmosphere. Virgo’s mutability is most interesting because they have tolerance and patience; their groundedness makes them almost hypercritical but also naïve.
Gemini could amaze the Virgo and keep it off balance. If the Virgo were attracted to the Gemini, it would have to admire the Twin. Sometimes Gemini can come off as shallow, but many times they can be downright brilliant and impressive. Virgo might be taken with a soul that seemed not to be burdened with the sensitive and turbulent inner life of the Virgin. Gemini can be quite philosophical, and Virgo, though most preoccupied with the world as they see it, might be convinced of the seriousness of Gemini. Gemini could see the earth sign’s practicality and love it for its fresh innocence, while still being able to dodge the Virgin’s critical tongue with its own cleverness.
Virgo’s secret nagging worries are always plaguing them. Their heads are always otherwise preoccupied as they tend to theirs and others’ lives. Gemini can bring a real freshness and breezy lightheartedness to the Virgo’s life. The cures that Virgo’s practical lifestyle could bring to the Gemini could be very salubrious. However, Gemini does not feel tons of guilt and resists the very concept of perfection. This difference of opinion about life is a stark one, but it could have a positive effect on both of them.
Gemini and Virgo would probably not be explosive romancers. Gemini’s malleability and quicksilver quality would allow Virgo to be a little more imaginative than they would probably let themselves be. Romance for the Virgo might need more sincerity, but a loving Gemini could certainly work on that.
Virgo and Gemini could really need to focus on getting conflicts actually resolved. While Virgo can be quite critical on a continuing basis, Gemini can retort with machine-gun speed. If Gemini were inspired to be critical, they could do it quite masterfully with their ultra-sharp mind and tongue. This is not a scenario that would encourage relationship growth. In fact, it could be destructive.
Life in the end is repetitive and mundane, and so is romance itself. This factor asks the question: "Can we be bored together over the long term?" Gemini and Virgo, if they became a real partnership or couple, could live the peaceful quietude that Virgo might have been planning for, as they improve their gardens and add a beautiful den. Gemini, needing variety, would tend to keep things more than just mundane. From a long-term standpoint, this envisions an attractive horizon.
Keep Up the Interest Graph
Virgo does not mind an “interesting life” as long as the basics were covered. Nothing is more interesting to Virgo than keeping the elements of life in control. Once that was addressed, vitality, fun and variety can be as appealing to Virgo as Gemini. Gemini might tire of Virgo’s almost painful insistence on their main concerns, but barring the Twins’ exasperation, they could remain interested in each other’s deeply felt love.
There are some signs that, by their nature, are more stable in their love interests and family concerns as time goes on. Others are not. The 7-year itch can trip up any union. Virgo hates falling prey to human things like this. Gemini by nature might be more susceptible. Virgo could be chronically worried about where Gemini’s attention was being aimed, and the 7th year might worry them more.
AstroCompatibility Positivity Rating
60% Positive Long-Term; 70% Short-Term. If Virgo’s innocence and Gemini’s outer lack of innocence worked, there could be attachment. If Virgo honestly was captured by Gemini’s mercurial ways, Gemini could appreciate Virgo’s gifts, and something long-term might happen. There is much here to be learned from each other.

I'm in a relationship with a Virgo and things are just fine. I just worry that he might be too quick on changing from one way to another too fast. I'm very capable to slow down and work things through with him, but what might be some other ways to keep us from breaking apart?
