A Leo and Pisces Love Match

Updated on January 22, 2017

I am learning so much by studying the zodiac. I'm going through all 72 love combinations of the zodiac. As I have mentioned in other hubs, you have seen every love match in the natural world succeed... and you have also seen every single love match fail.

Saying which combinations are compatible and which ones are not is frankly... not enough or the whole picture.

Each pairing is unique, putting two individuals together with different missions on love with a new collaborative mission. You will still always be you and have the mission you have to help bring love, enlightenment, and grace to the planet. In a relationship, you have another mission to help bring love into the world.

I like to say that some combinations have an easier recipe than others, but that doesn't mean the quality in the end is any greater or less. Here is a metaphor: red Velvet cake is a complicated recipe, but it is well worth it.

Leo + Pisces

Leo and Pisces -- what a spectacular combination. Leo is the sunshine, the heat of summer, they are bright and bold, and loved to have their ego stroked. You often can tell someone is a Leo before they even start talking. They are bright, noticeable leaders, movers and shakers, and they have really big lion hearts. Pisces is someone who is excellent at understanding unconditional love and their mission is to express unconditional love. It's not an easy route and many Pisces can have a hard time with their mission and where they are headed. Leo wants to bring about the warmth of the world, they want to win your affections, they also are pretty loving and protective. They enjoy being doted on and they also love making you laugh, think, everything. I love the warmth of Leos and how much they care about the people that are in their pack.

Leo does not like it when its affection is taken away from them. If they are not being loved enough, they get pouty or confused. Pisces loves to give and give and give. Pisces wants to make sure people feel loved, that they get their own attention, and they grow with someone. Pisces and Leo are both signs that desire relationships. They may confuse each other for coming from different temperaments, but since they both really strongly desire love and affection... they'll be happy with each other. Leo wants it all, it wants to have a give and take relationship. A Leo is more yang and a Pisces is more yin. Think of Leo as the sun in the sky and Pisces as a moon to cater to its energy. Leo may enjoy this as opposed to dating someone in the same element, because two fire signs can feel like you are both trying to pull the wagon, but in different directions or for different reasons.

Leo Takes Charge

Leo will peacock. They are bold. They like to chase and have someone's affection. They are quite easy to read when in love. They wear their heart openly. It upsets Leo if you give too little in the relationship. Remember sweet, gentle Pisces you must be tender with a Leo's ego. They hold their ego dearly, and it can hurt them quite sharply if you ram through them with criticism. Leo will appreciate if you think before you speak. Leo will honor you with loyalty and will make sure you are okay. Pisces would sacrifice itself for its Leo -- or for any cause it finds worthy. Leo should remember to give to the Pisces and not just receive their partner's affection. Leo can be good at returning love, but don't get conceited and think you're the only one in the relationship. Leo does well to train itself with humility rather than get rammed over by entitlement. Leo needs to be gentle with Pisces, and Leo has this capability, remember Pisces can get overwhelmed by too much conflict or too much anger. A peaceful Leo will help tender the relationship better than an aggressive Leo.

Wisdom for Pisces

Pisces needs to step up and make sure that they speak about where they feel. Pisces can use its intuition to guide the relationship and Leo can use its strong leadership and will to make things happen. Pisces needs to wean itself off of self-martyrdom. Pisces needs to make a pact with itself to avoid toxic relationships and also to stand up for itself.

Pisces should not get wrapped up in narcissism, so if you fall for a Leo make sure you check they have matured to allow humility in their lives. Pisces needs someone who is full of grace and mercy. Be careful not to project what you want onto a partner and get a different picture of what is really there.

I think the core beliefs these two have in wanting, desiring, and fostering love will keep them together. Again, they both love affection, they love sharing their hearts, and they love relationships. Leo needs to help setup boundaries, and not just burn through them. Pisces as a water sign doesn't naturally like boundaries -- it wants to flow and and express as much as possible. It likes to feel and find the telepathic connection. Leo can keep charging forth because it is so excited about life and it can get to a point that it can't hear others. Slow down, Leo! Your Pisces needs your ears, and it needs your help setting up boundaries.

Yin and Yang

Leo and Pisces need to communicate openly about their expectations on love. This may help them to really see where they are needing to go and why. You both are coming from different places on love, but learning about each other should be fascinating.

Remember that this relationship is a very yin and yang relationship. Leo is more yang and Pisces is more yin. Pisces likes to provide affection and Leo has a lot of hope to have love poured all over them. Leo is more practical than Pisces. Pisces is full of imagination, dreams, the spirit. Leo is aware of the social world; this is why they project and peacock and take charge so much. They are ready to live and go. Both of them are romantic seekers. Leo would love to provide Pisces with a wonderful romance, and Pisces requires romance.

Remember, Love is Not All

You can idealize each other, so make sure you take care of things that don't naturally come to the forefronts of your minds. Love and expressing love are not the only parts of a relationship you need to maintain. All play and no work will leave you in poverty. Make sure to be accountable. These two can help bring warmth that they've always craved to have. Leo wants to live a big life, a joyful life, a life of adventure -- so Pisces will need to show they can live up to these standards. Leo will be drawn to Pisces since it is highly creative and considerate of others. Leo is a social magnet. Leos are often extroverts.

Fixed vs. Mutable

Leo as a fixed sign will be more stubborn. Pisces is considered the most mutable sign. They take their time making an opinion, they may secretly pine over you for a long time, and they like to change their minds for what they see as the most ideal. They are soulful signs and can see beyond the ego. A Pisces can look into the eyes of a Leo and see well beyond the ego and right to the heart. This is something Leo needs because there is more there than simply ego, but of course they do need it stroked. Pisces likes to feel like they are being rescued and Leo will gladly do that. Pisces can also act like a knight in shining armor, a chivalry flair, and so forth.

Questions & Answers

  • A Leo man and a Pisces woman, is this a good pair?

All 78 combinations of romantic pairs can work out. In this world, all 78 have found marriage; and all 78 have found divorce. It's more about knowing how the blueprint works for each pair. "strong, feral, bestial, commanding, SOLITARY" this totally nails my person to a T. All this warm, generous hippy shit isn't really the Leo type. We do get warm and generous when we're happy and treated well but our base nature is the above.

Ehhhh...please stop making Leo overly soft. It is a powerful, aggressive, fierce, dominant, temperamental LION. And when lions are threatened, they don't sulk of pout, they roar and attack. Fiercely.

So again...you modern astrologers really have to do a better job of portraying the lion for what it is. A powerful warrior and apex predator that can most CERTAINLY defend itself if threatened, certainly against a little fish.

Leo was described as a "strong, feral, bestial, commanding, SOLITARY sign." It's high time modern astrologers go back to those descriptions rather than the annoying and overly soft "warm, generous, creative, charismatic, etc." that hardly sound like lions.
