Hope Garza

I'm a sixteen year old girl who lives in Ridge Manor, Florida. I have been writing and journaling for most of my life, but I've never thought to put some of my work online. I love going to church, singing in my youth band, playing soccer, and writing about my day in a journal that I always keep.

After journeying to Haiti with my youth group this most recent summer, I decided to work towards becoming a nurse. My group and I worked with kids for a week by playing soccer with them, ministering to them, and making sure that they knew that we are there for them and that we love them. Most of these kids were dirt poor, a few hours outside of the typical outreach area for missionaries, and therefore not getting the much needed necessities for everyday life. My group and I were overwhelmed with joy to spend time with these kids and it was extremely hard to leave them at the end of the week. Despite this difficulty, we are returning next year.

I take college classes at a local community college through a program called dual enrollment. This program allows high schoolers to recieve their high school diploma as well as a college degree at the same time, if the student works at it. I am starting this year as a Junior and have over half the amount of credits needed to recieve my degree at the end of my Senior year. I am very grateful for this opportunity.

I live on a farm. I have three goats, many chickens, a dog, a cat, and a duck. I'm not often at home, but when I am, I love walking outside and seeing all the animals in their natural environment.

I am a Christian and I love God with all my heart. I fight for what I believe in, but never judge or try to change someone else's. I have an amazing life and I hope that, through my writing, it is made known. With Much Love.
