The primary message within my hubs is one of self-empowerment.
I remind the readers their lives are the result of decisions and choices they have made. It’s very easy to get caught up in a "blame game" when we feel someone has done us wrong. This is especially true when it comes to our romantic relationships.
When we acknowledge we select our own friends, lovers, and spouses it empowers us because we have the ability to learn from our mistakes and make better choices in the future. Ideally with time and experience we learn about ourselves, what we want, and need to have a fulfilling relationship.
In my book My Cat Won't Bark! (A Relationship Epiphany) I provide the reader with a guideline to approach new relationships. There is a discussion regarding the 6 main ingredients of every happy relationship. I also explain why it is necessary they be in a particular syntax or order. Each trait builds upon the previous one as if they were links in a chain becoming stronger with each new link.
The 6 traits are in this order: Honesty, Trust, Loyalty, Love & Devotion, Intimacy, and Emotional Security. Take it from me starting off with intimacy and attempting to work backwards seldom works. Last but not least I remind the reader that life is a “personal journey”. The only person you can control is yourself. You are responsible for your own happiness.
